Rivet utilizes SRT protocol to help producers bring in remote talents from anywhere in the world.
But to create a Rivet stream, you need to find the IP Address of your Decoder.
There are two addresses that you may find on your network.
The first represents the local area connection or LAN. Every device on your network is placed on the LAN and gets an IP address based on the rules of the router.
Common ranges include 192.168.0.1 or 10.0.0.1.
There are IP addresses designated specifically for LANs. But these are not what we’re looking for.
We are looking for the IP address assigned to our internet gateway. This is what we use to access and how other people access our decoder from the internet.
To find that IP address, go to Google Chrome and type “what’s my IP.” This will work on a Mac or PC. It should be one of the first things to appear.
Once you find the IP Address you will paste it into the Decoder Address field under the Contributor Camera Section in the Stream Settings.
